Mission
The purpose of the Goddard Webmasters is to provide a forum for
technical exchange for World Wide Web activities. In addition, the group
will assist the
IROC and the Goddard CIO in all matters dealing with the World Wide Web.
Charter
To accomplish this purpose, the Webmasters will:
Provide a forum for addressing common issues and concerns
through the use of the gsfc.www newsgroup, a GSFC Webmasters Homepage,
regular monthly meetings, and other means.
Provide technical expertise and recommendations on WWW policy matters.
Ensure that GSFC and NASA WWW policy information is
disseminated to the Goddard community.
Responsibilities
The Webmasters shall:
Maintain an online GSFC Webmasters discussion group to
address WWW issues.
Develop a common set of tools for web authoring and administration.
Maintain a GSFC Webmasters Home Page.
Assist the IROC with GSFC WWW issues.
Maintain a record of Webmasters recommendations.
Membership
Each individual who either offers or sponsors a page from a web server
linked to the Goddard WWW will be considered a Webmaster.
Any host in the gsfc.nasa.gov domain or any system maintained by Goddard
that runs a web server can be considered to be a part of the Goddard WWW.
Any other interested persons can join the group.
If the group grows large, policy recommendations may be made by
representatives of each directorate rather than by the group as a whole.
